Lamborghini driver refuses to stop parking his £250,000 supercar in mayor’s parking space

A man has flat-out refused to stop parking his £250,000 Lamborghini in a space reserved for the town mayor.

Fashion company boss Ash White has already received six tickets for leaving his garish orange sports car in the spot outside Cheltenham Town Hall in Gloucestershire.

However, the 22-year-old has managed to overturn every single ticket on legal technicalities.

Gloucestershire County Council admitted that at least two of the tickets were not valid as the words ‘Mayor’s Car’ were painted inside the marked bay.

Having re-painted the words outside the bay, Mr White started parking his black Lamborghini in the same spot.

Parking law expert Nigel Wise, who helped Mr White win the ticket appeals, said: “There is no such thing as a priority space for the mayor.

“They are just putting up restrictions willy nilly.”

The council’s parking bosses said Mr Wise was behind the times and that parking legislation had now been updated.

Nigel Riglar, director of communities and infrastructure at Gloucestershire County Council, said: “The council is continuing to enforce on-street parking in Cheltenham and across the county.

“The restrictions are intended to make parking easier for residents and visitors alike – residents have the option to lodge an appeal on any ticket issued and, if they are still unhappy, can pursue the matter with the Traffic Penalty Tribunal.”

After his latest set of tickets, Mr White said: “I don’t mind paying up, the tickets don’t bother me.”

The entrepreneur also said he was considering buying an office in the town just so he would be able to have his own parking permit.
