Lancashire Bank Holiday weekend forecast as Met Office issues rain update

Good news - it looks like the rain sweeping over Lancashire today will clear with sunnier and hotter weather on the way.

It has been a damp and grey start to the Bank Holiday weekend with Met Office forecasters warning of a split across the UK on Saturday, with southern parts of England and Wales set to be dry and bright, while areas of northern England and Scotland experience heavy outbreaks of rain.

Greg Dewhurst, a meteorologist at the Met Office, said there would be "plenty of sunshine around, but it will become cloudier the further north you are". The latest forecast shows rain falling across most parts of Lancashire this afternoon, with heavier spells between 4pm and 6pm.
