Landlords snap up Stoke-on-Trent pub - with Sunday dinners coming
A new landlord and landlady have taken over a cosy sports pub and are looking forward to seeing the place filled with smiling punters. Husband-and-wife team Chris Hollgate and Karen Muddiman have moved to The Terrace Inn, in Penkhull, and are looking forward to cooking up Sunday Dinners.
This is the couple’s second pub after moving from outside the city, and they’re now looking forward to learning who their regulars are and what Stoke has to offer. They have music artists and entertainment in the pipeline for punters to enjoy.
The pub is split into two halves, with one side offering drinks and the other offering food and a function room - which people can book for free. Karen and Chris are also offering catering buffets at reasonable prices.
Karen said: “This is our second pub and we’re working on providing food, we’ve even had a new oven. Food went down really well at our last pub so we’re planning a menu at the moment. We’ll definitely be doing roast dinners though because people love eating them and I love cooking them.
“We’re working on getting more people in, so we’ve booked some music artists and entertainment. We’ve also agreed to let a band practice here every other week, and another lady has asked if her dance troupe can rehearse here too - we let them have it for free.
“We have Sky, TBT and racing channels all set up for people to watch. We’re also the only pub with pool and darts in this part of the village. We have a beer garden and we’re cheap and cheerful, so hopefully we’ll be seeing a lot of people - especially during summer.”
The dog friendly pub is open on Sundays to Thursdays from midday until 11pm, and on Fridays and Saturdays from midday until 1am.
