An Oxford language school is delivering sustainability-focused classes after partnering with a global non-profit leader in climate protection.

EF International Language Campuses in Oxford has teamed up with MyClimate to create a course that fuses English language learning with sustainability education.

It covers key sustainability areas including climate change, renewable energy, sustainable living practices, and biodiversity.

The school's director, Craig Mcilwain, said: "Our collaboration with MyClimate underscores our commitment to sustainability and education, empowering our students to make a positive impact."

Students take part in interactive and practical activities such as debates, projects and case studies.

Ef said this "hands-on approach not only enhances their [the students] language skills but also equips them with the knowledge and confidence to advocate for environmental sustainability in their communities".

Anaelle, a student from France, said: "The special interest course has been really useful for a lot of people because they don’t know so much about things such as fast fashion or water pollution.

"It’s good to learn how we can prevent damage to the environment and also learn specific words and English to discuss this kind of topic."

The collaboration is part of a wider partnership between EF Education First and MyClimate aimed at measuring, analysing, and reducing its carbon footprint and promoting environmental education.

EF Education First is a global association of education companies that offers language, academic, cultural exchange, and education travel programmes.
