Laptops, clothing and electronic devices stolen in Northumbria University burglary

An investigation has been launched following a break-in at Northumbria University.

The burglary happened on the third floor of the Squires Building on Lovaine Place in Newcastle city centre at some point between April 12 and 15. A number of laptops, electronic devices and clothing were stolen in the break-in.

Pictures taken at the scene show a glass panel has been completely smashed with broken glass on the floor.

Police believe a man broke into the building before making off with the goods at some point after 5pm on April 12. An investigation has since been launched.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "We received a report of burglary at offices on Lovaine Place, in Newcastle city centre, which is believed to have taken place between 5pm on Friday, April 12, and 6.40am on Monday, April 15. It was reported that a male offender broke into the premises and stole a number of laptops, electronic devices and items of clothing before leaving the scene."
