Large Guildford clothing store to close this weekend

One of Guildford’s largest clothing stores is closing at the weekend. River Island will shut its doors on Saturday (May 11) making the nearest Surrey location Camberley.

River Island takes up two floors of the Friary Centre, and is located near Superdry. The iconic high-street brand sells women’s, men’s and kidswear, covering all the latest trends.

The shop is having a big sale ahead of closing with items going for up to 30% off. Another notice on the door says that some sale items will be less than £10.

While there are more than 250 River Island’s across the UK, there aren’t many across Surrey. The other stores in the County are in Camberley and Staines-upon-Thames, which is a fair distance from Guildford.

Other nearby shops include the River Island in Bracknell, Berkshire and Portsmouth, and customers can also shop 24/7 online. In a note on the door said “ To all our valued customers we will see you soon.”
