Four teens have been arrested over the the theft of a motorcycle and possession of a 'large quantity of cocaine'.

During the early hours of Saturday, May 4, a motorcycle was stolen from the car park at Tesco in Northallerton. The council CCTV operator found footage of the theft and a potential description of a suspect vehicle.

Through the CCTV footage, an area where the motorcycle had been moved to for collection by the thieves later on, was identified. Through ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) work by officers, the vehicle was identified.

Northallerton response officers, from North Yorkshire Police, were then able to locate and recover the stolen vehicle. The suspect vehicle returned to Northallerton later the same day – officers were waiting for it and stopped it safely using TPAC (Tactical Pursuit & Containment) tactics.

A force spokesperson said: "Four occupants in the car were arrested and evidence from the vehicle was recovered. This included the angle grinder that was used in the theft of the motorcycle, plus a large quantity of cocaine was also recovered.

"Four people, aged 16 to 18, have been arrested. All four remain in custody and have been linked to a series of other offences across Hambleton in recent weeks. A job well done for all our officers involved!"
