Larne owner Kenny Bruce hit out at the club's critics as the Inver Park side celebrated a second successive Premiership title.

Tiernan Lynch's men beat Coleraine 5-0 to confirm their coronation, and capping off another remarkable season.

Last season they lifted the title for the first time in the club's 134-year history. Now they can celebrate back-to-back championships.

It has been an incredible run from the Inver Park side, built on the vision and investment from people like Bruce.

And he says the club's trophy success "will remain in the record books forever".

Bruce said on X before Saturday's game against Coleraine: "Today sees Larne FC challenging for its 7th senior trophy in 7 years, which is a remarkable achievement in itself, if we are lucky enough to secure back to back Premier League titles, those who doubted us can once & for all “eat their words”.

"Whatever the future holds, those trophies can’t be taken off us. They will remain in the record books forever. Enjoy today, win, lose or draw. #ForTheTown."

One follower praised Larne, but claimed it was "no miracle" because Bruce's club are "paying wages the rest of the league have no chance of doing".

Bruce simply replied: "I wouldn’t believe all you read."

Larne have enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past seven years. They started by winning the Championship title in 2018/19, earning promotion to the Premiership in the process.

They have gone on to win four successive County Antrim Shields and played Champions League football, but the crowning glory was last season's Gibson Cup success, the club's first in its 134-year history.

And on Saturday they made it back-to-back titles with another memorable top flight win.
