The Last of Us casts Schitt's Creek star in season 2
The Last of Us season 2 spoilers follow.
The Last of Us has cast Schitt's Creek star Catherine O'Hara in the second season.
According to Deadline, HBO has confirmed that Catherine will be playing an "undisclosed role" but she is expected to have a major part in the upcoming episodes.
Catherine is currently starring on the big screen in Argylle and will also be reprising her role as Delia Deetz in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
The Canadian comedy legend has won two Primetime Emmy Awards, one for writing on the influential sketch show SCTV and, more recently, for playing Moira Rose in Schitt's Creek.

She joins an impressive group of new cast members boarding The Last of Us for its second season, alongside returning stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as apocalypse survivors Joel and Ellie.
Dopesick and No One Will Save You star Kaitlyn Dever will be playing major TLOU2 video game character Abby, with Madame Web's Isabela Merced as Ellie's new love interest Dina.
The new cast will be rounded out with Beef's Young Mazino as Dina's ex-boyfriend Jesse, an important ally to Ellie.
Unfortunately, The Last of Us co-creator Craig Mazin has confirmed that Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett will not be returning as their popular characters Bill and Frank.
"I'm very proud of the episode we did with Bill and Frank," he said. "There won't be more Bill and Frank."

While the second season of The Last of Us doesn't have a release date yet, the show is set to film a huge portion of the new episodes in Vancouver to match the Pacific Northwest setting of The Last of Us Part II.
The Last of Us airs on HBO in the US, and on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW in the UK.
