There is no doubt about it - no matter what your political allegiance is - it's going to be an interesting few months ahead. We're just weeks away from the election of the first-ever East Midlands Mayor.

A general election is also expected to be held at some point over the next few months. Chancellor Jeremy Hunt hinted one could be held in October, with the latest date an election could legally take place being January 28, 2025.

Closer to home, the budget troubles at Nottingham City Council have led to commissioners being appointed to oversee decisions at Loxley House. Keeping up to date with all the latest political updates and news can be a little difficult, to say the least.
