Laura Anderson was forced to miss her shift on the Capital Breakfast show this morning after rushing her baby daughter to A&E on Tuesday.

The former Love Island star took over from Tallia Storm earlier this month to front the daily radio programme along with Fat Brestovci. But she was forced to call in sick for Wednesday's instalment after the terrifying hospital dash with baby Bonnie.

Laura told fans on Instagram this morning: "I just wanted to apologise to the Capital listeners.

"I've not been able to make it into work this morning, unfortunately. Bonnie comes first and I've not been able to get permanent childcare for her since starting the job.

"I don't want to leave her with someone she doesn't know until she's better.

"I know my co-host Fat is incredible by himself so the show will be amazing, and yes, I'll be back tomorrow.

"It's been a bit of a tough night, I need to try and get a urine sample from this little one.

"But thanks for all of your messages.

"Not to scare anyone, she's just had a really high temperature over 39 when I got home yesterday and her heart rate spiked so we just need to get her checked out."

Earlier this week we reported Laura had given fans an update and admitted that she's 'tried everything' to make her family work after splitting from Bonnie's dad, Gary Lucy.

Laura and former Hollyoaks actor Gary welcomed baby Bonnie together in September last year but their relationship has been on and off ever since. The pair first met whilst filming Celebs Go Dating back in 2022.

They split in February 2023, just after Laura had announced she was expecting their first child.

Despite splitting, Laura revealed that the pair would continue to co-parent their now seven-month-old daughter, even hinting at a possible reunion back in December.

Over the weekend, Laura shared sweet footage of Bonnie trying to stand on her feet and wrote: "One moment you're in the trenches of the newborn and postpartum phase. And then suddenly things click with your new little human and you catch yourself wishing time would stand still."

Many of Laura's fans flocked to the comments to speculate if she and Gary were still together - prompting her to reply she can "no longer" conceal the truth, claiming that she's been raising her daughter single-handedly. She wrote: "I did everything I could to make my family work, fool me. There's no cryptic posts anymore I'm fed up hiding the truth. Is what it is."

Recently, Laura opened up to the Mirror about the difficulties of being a single parent and her desire to be a good mother to Bonnie. She said: "I think it was hard to get my head around initially, it wasn't what I expected. But that's the cards I was dealt in the end. Of course, I'm going to make it work for my child, even more so. I feel like I'm a really good mum, to be honest."

The 34-year-old, who shot to fame in 2018, joked that her little one was her "brainpower". She added: "She's great, your social life does a take a little bit of a backseat but most people, your good friends understand that."
