"And they're like 18-year-olds - the carpet, the fake tan, the makeup, the BO – it stinks!"

The Irish presenter compared the scent to that of Lynx Africa deodorant – a favourite among teenage boys – "when they try to cover the BO – that's what it smells like."

Whitmore has fronted the series since January 2020 following the death of Caroline Flack.

Love Island is currently on its eighth series and still packing in the viewers with its sun-soaked drama.

This year it features contestants such as footballer Michael Owen's daughter Gemma.

The 19-year-old, who is currently partnered up in the villa with fishmonger Luca Bish, 23, is the first contestant to be surprised with an ex entering the villa.

Her former boyfriend, rugby player Jacques O’Neill, entered the villa on Sunday, shocking the teenager and her fellow contestants.

‘Love Island’ airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
