Leeds United-linked striker leaves Championship rivals after snubbing new contract

Leeds United-linked Daniel Jebbison has turned down the chance to remain at Sheffield United. The forward has officially left Bramall Lane after rejecting fresh terms to extend his Blades stay.

Jebbison is now a free agent after and is considering his next option. The news will come as a blow to the South Yorkshire club, with their first Championship fixture less than six weeks away. All transfer activity is believed to be on hold at Sheffield United while takeover talks progress.

Leeds and Sunderland are amongst the clubs to have been previously linked with Jebbison, who has represented England at Under-20 level. Should Jebbison find another club in England, Sheffield United will be entitled to some compensation because Jebbison is under 24 years of age and was offered a new deal by the Blades. If the two clubs cannot agree on a suitable compensation package, then the deal will go to a tribunal, who will assess Jebbison’s fair market value.
