One change has been forced upon Daniel Farke ahead of Leeds United’s decisive play-off semi-final second leg with Norwich City. Sam Byram is not with the squad, with Joel Piroe chosen as the man to replace him in the starting line-up.

It’s unclear why Byram is missing, but without a pre-match press conference, there was always the chance of undisclosed injuries. It looks like it will mean Archie Gray returns to right-back, despite his impressive turn as the side’s attacking central midfielder on Sunday.

It also means Georginio Rutter retains his place in the XI despite a difficult run of form. Piroe should lead the attack with the Frenchman behind him. Joe Gelhardt is the new face on the bench after that reshuffle.

It also means Byram has played his last game for the Whites at Elland Road if he is not offered a new contract this summer. Liam Cooper and Jamie Shackleton are on the bench and in the same boat, hoping to get a run out if this is their last chance.

Tonight’s referee against Norwich is Jarred Gillett and he is assisted by Neil Davies, Nick Greenhalgh and Rebecca Welch (fourth official). Tonight’s tie is neatly poised after Sunday’s first leg, when the teams played out a 0-0 draw that would have felt like progress on recent form for them both.
