Contract decisions from Liam Cooper, Jamie Shackleton and Cody Drameh are still being awaited at Leeds United with the trio now officially free agents. Their deals at Elland Road expired yesterday with the Whites yet to find a resolution with any of them.

Pre-season starts at Thorp Arch this week and none of them are expected to report back for training under Daniel Farke while their futures remain uncertain. The likes of Luke Ayling, Lewis Bate and Ian Poveda have already seen their futures resolved at the end of their contracts.

Ayling and Bate have signed deals with Middlesbrough and Stockport County respectively, while Poveda was not offered a new deal at Elland Road. It remains to be seen what will happen with the three who Leeds did show an intention of keeping.

Cooper, the club captain, is of course the headline name. If his service continues through to August he will hit 10 years with the Whites, but his options remain open for now.

Leeds have made him an offer of a new deal, but the terms have not proven good enough for the defender to sign straight away. Talks will continue between Cooper and the club on him staying on, while the possibility of a third party swooping in remains.

The likelihood of Shackleton or Drameh staying on remains far slimmer. The former has been strongly linked with Sheffield United and, at 25, after years of failing to get regular football needs to surely find a new challenge.

While Shackleton was retained by Farke last season and is wanted again for the forthcoming campaign, Drameh was sent away last term. The full-back had a brief chance in August, but did not sufficiently impress and joined Birmingham City for the year.

A new contract has been offered to Drameh, but United do not expect him to accept the terms. There is also, by offering him a new deal, the small matter of compensation the Whites will be entitled to if Drameh does find a new club because he is under 24.
