Leeds United's mass exodus uncovered as six more players could join list of 11 departures

Leeds United are facing up to a major rebuild if they are to mount a successful promotion push, with Daniel Farke looking set to build a fresh squad after narrowly missing out on going up last season.

Following Leeds' heartbreaking 1-0 defeat to Southampton in the Championship play-off final, the Whites have already lost 11 players and six more players could be joining that already lengthy departure list.

Connor Roberts (Burnley) and Jaidon Anthony (Bournemouth) have returned to their parent clubs following their loan spells at Leeds last season.

Luis Sinisterra's loan move to Bournemouth has now officially been made permanent. So, too, has Marc Roca's loan move to Spanish side Real Betis, while Robin Koch has joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer after his successful loan spell with the Bundesliga side.

Ian Poveda and Lewis Bate were both released at the end of their contracts, while Jack Harrison has exercised the clause in his contract to rejoin Everton on a season-long loan deal for the second successive season.

Young forward Sonny Perkins has also left Leeds on a loan deal, joining League One side Leyton Orient for the 2024/25 season and Leeds have lost experience, too, with Luke Ayling joining Middlesbrough and Stuart Dallas retiring through injury.

Leeds have offered new deals to Jamie Shackleton, Cody Drameh and Liam Cooper but there has been no confirmation whether any of those players have signed those deals. All three players' current contracts expired yesterday so they, too, could join the 12 players already through the exit door.

Diego Llorente, who has recently returned from a loan spell with Roma, could be joining Real Betis this week, while England under-21 international defender Charlie Cresswell looks set to join Toulouse in a deal worth around £3.8million.

And, of course, teenage star Archie Gray's mooted move to Tottenham Hotspur will hurt Leeds United fans the most and the 18-year-old has completed his medical ahead of a deal said to be worth between £25-30million.

The upshot of that for Leeds is that Joe Rodon, who enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Whites last season, is expected to return to the club in a separate deal worth in the region of £10million.

Rodon's arrival will be the first in what is set to be a major rebuild for Farke this summer with Leeds already made favourites to win the Championship title next season.
