'I left note on entitled neighbour's car to slam her parking – she's not happy'

Some people are not keen on confrontation.

So instead of getting into a face-to-face argument, they prefer to soften the blow by writing letters instead. This method comes with its own issues though – as people can find it quite passive aggressive.

Sadly, this was the case for one woman who called out her neighbour's parking. When she penned a note to say a vehicle was blocking the street, the local next door called her "rude".

On Reddit, she said: "Today, I was driving back from a few errands to find there were no spaces because a massive SUV parked across two. Feeling irritated this is a constant, I parked up on the street and went into my house to write the following note: 'Please don’t double park. People who live here can’t park their cars'. I left it on their windshield and thought nothing of it.

"A few hours later, another neighbour of mine (the couple in the house directly next to me) knocks on my door to say the car has gone and we can park our cars. Suddenly from across the street, another woman comes storming over waving my note and screaming about how embarrassed she is."

The letter caused such a stir as it was left on the car of someone visiting the family – and apparently they were mortified to have angered the neighbours. Things got so heated that a resident even threatened to phone the police.

She added: "[She said the note was] 'completely out of order'. Her daughter then joins the fray, also screaming about how she can’t believe a neighbour would do this and how I’ve intimidated her mother. She even threatened to call the police! My other neighbours jumped to my defence, saying they also couldn’t park outside their own home and the screaming continued."

After the post swept Reddit, people were quick to weigh in with their opinions. Many didn't see anything wrong with leaving the note – especially as the driver had parked badly.

One commented: "I had neighbours who would repeatedly park in my driveway. When we confronted them the crazy woman got right up in my face yelling her head off. The cops did nothing. They kept doing it til we moved."

Another Redditor wrote: "They seem to be the type of people who think they are all that matters in the world and the rest of us are just NPCs (non-player characters) in the video game that is their lives. How dare you question the main characters?" And a third added: "I'm from America and double parking is a huge no-no. Your neighbours are turds."
