LEGO has announced a new 'LEGO DREAMZzz' series bringing "the creativity of children's dreams" to life.

The upcoming 10 episode series will launch on May 15 and air on YouTube, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Sky and ITVX across the UK.

In a press release the LEGO Group teased: "[The series] follows the adventures of school friends, Mateo, Izzie, Cooper, Logan and Zoey, as they join a secret agency and learn to use the power of imagination to journey into the Dream World – and defeat the tyrannical Nightmare King!"

Meanwhile, further episodes will be available in August.

The series will be followed by new product range, including Izzie and Bunchu the Bunny, Mrs. Castillo’s Turtle Van and the Nightmare Shark Ship.

While 80 percent of a LEGO DREAMZzz build will follow instructions as ever, the final 20 percent leaves the choices totally up to the builder, "meaning they can build and rebuild during play".

The press release adds: "Harnessing the power of children’s imaginations, LEGO DREAMZzz will provide escapism from the structure of day-to-day life and create an incredible entertainment and play experience that puts children in the imagination-powered driving seat."

In a statement, Cerim Manovi, Creative Director for LEGO DREAMZzz, added: “LEGO DREAMZzz is our very first concept that celebrates the wondrous world of dreaming and explores what happens when dreams become real, ordinary kids become extraordinary and creativity is a superpower!

“We want children to feel empowered to bring their wildest dreams to life and revel in the true force of their creative imaginations while dreaming – and this is just the beginning!”

To celebrate the launch of LEGO DREAMZzz, children aged between six and 12 years old can submit their own dream creation - a simple drawing or picture of a vehicle or creature they’ve made themselves - in a bid to become a Chief Dream Creator.

The chosen participants will be flown to Denmark, home of the LEGO Group, to join a series of LEGO DREAMZzz workshops.

Entry officially opens on May 20 and runs until June 20, and more information can be found at LEGO.com/dreamzzz.

LEGO DREAMZzz series is available to watch on the LEGO YouTube channel from May 15, 2023 on https://youtu.be/tD0T0TYsR6w at 5pm GMT.

Season one will also be available to stream on Amazon Prime, Netflix, ITVX and Sky.
