Leicester City will travel to Germany to face Augsburg next month as their pre-season schedule continues to come together.

City will take on the Bundesliga outfit on Saturday, August 3, at the end of a European training camp, and it should be a good test for Steve Cooper’s players. Augsburg are an established Bundesliga side on a 13-year run in the German top flight, and last season finished 11th, their highest placing for nine years.

The match will not take place at Augsburg’s home ground though. Instead, it will be played 60 miles south in the town of Kempten, near the border with Austria, at the 9,000 capacity Illerstadion.

It’s the third friendly to be announced as City gear up for their return to the Premier League. Their pre-season action begins at Shrewsbury on Tuesday, July 23, and concludes in France against Lens on Saturday, August 10.

Before that, they will play French teams Annecy and Caen in hour-long training games during a camp at Lake Geneva, a regular spot for City in pre-season. The senior players return to Seagrave to begin training next Monday.
