Hamza Choudhury, Dennis Praet, and Kelechi Iheanacho will be the favourites to come into the Leicester City line-up if their three doubtful stars are deemed unavailable to face West Brom.

Ricardo Pereira, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Jamie Vardy may not be fit to take on the Baggies on Saturday lunchtime, City manager Enzo Maresca revealed on Friday afternoon. And it’s Ricardo where there is likely the most concern.

Dewsbury-Hall has been ill while Vardy took a kick to the leg in training, both issues that should not be too difficult to overcome. However, Maresca said Ricardo was being monitored after playing 90 minutes three times in a week last week, and having only just come back from a month-long lay-off.

If Ricardo is out, Choudhury is the obvious replacement in the hybrid right-back role, having taken on those duties in nearly all of the matches the Portuguese has missed this season. But there is more choice for Maresca if Dewsbury-Hall and Vardy are out.

In midfield, it would be a battle between Praet and Yunus Akgun to come in for Dewsbury-Hall. With Praet coming on as a substitute in the past couple of outings, and creating good chances for team-mates, he would be the favourite to get the nod.

If Vardy is out, Patson Daka feels like the obvious choice based on Maresca’s past decisions. However, the Zambian may need to be taken out of the firing line after his misses at Plymouth, meaning it would be between Iheanacho and Tom Cannon, with the former potentially chosen because of his greater experience.

Elsewhere, Maresca may resist supporter calls for Conor Coady to play and keep Wout Faes in his back-line. There’s more likely to be a change at left-back, where Callum Doyle may return to the side in place of James Justin.

Predicted City line-up (4-3-3): Hermansen; Choudhury, Faes, Vestergaard, Doyle; Winks, Ndidi, Dewsbury-Hall; Fatawu, Vardy, Mavididi.
