Leicester West has chosen next MP as General Election results announced
Liz Kendall will hold on to her Leicester West seat. The Labour MP has represented the constituency in Parliament since 2010.
The votes have now been counted and she has secured another five year term as the local MP. Ms Kendall secured 15,798 votes.
She beat out six other candidates also vying for the seat. Max Chauhan for the Conservatives came second with 7,021 votes.

Ian Hayes for Reform UK was third with 5,666 votes. Turnout was 48 per cent.
