A “sweet” and “bubbly” Staffordshire Bull Terrier is seeking a forever home.

Brock, who is two, is among the many dogs at Dogs Trust Loughborough’s rehoming centre in Wymeswold. He is a bundle of energy, but is now going through training to calm him down and make him forever home friendly.

That work is down the hard efforts of Charlotte Kemp, an assistant training and behaviour adviser at the centre. Since starting as a volunteer in 2017, she has given her all to the dogs and has helped many make the big move to a forever home. Bosses have praised her work as “invaluable”.

It’s no different for Brock either as Charlotte is giving everything to ensure he is ready to leave the Dogs Trust Team and secure a forever home. The Staffy is described by the team as “sweet” and “bubbly” and is one of the rehoming centre’s most beloved residents.

It’s through the work of Charlotte and others that Brock is making great strides in his development. Big walks away from the rehoming centre are among the techniques she uses, with Brock among the many to go on trips around Wymeswold and Bradgate Park. He has also benefited from day trips to the beach, with Charlotte giving him a great day out at the likes of Skegness and Ingoldmells.

It’s a move that she and the Dogs Trust Loughborough team says helps all dogs “comfortably adapt” to their future new surroundings. In Brock’s case, while he is young and “looking to play” according to the rehoming centre, he is also a cuddler. At evenings, they say he is an “ideal and affectionate snuggle buddy”.

Charlotte’s work goes beyond the dogs as well, with the assistant helping support new volunteers at the centre. She also runs workshops on basic dog training skills to help all staff get the most out of their work.

Celine Di Crocco, manager at Dogs Trust Loughborough, said: “The impact Charlotte has on our rehoming centre, by supporting other members of staff, new volunteers and caring for the dogs, is invaluable. Charlotte is a testament to the incredible volunteers and staff who come through the doors to help us find homes for our dogs. People who go the extra mile like Charlotte make a huge difference to the team, our supporters, and the dogs.”

Those looking to adopt Brock must live in a home with no other pets. More information, including all dogs seeking forever homes, can be found on the Dogs Trust Loughborough website.
