Leigh Leopards opt for early Ed Chamberlain recall as Hull FC loan spell ended
Leigh Leopards have recalled Ed Chamberlain. The centre joined Hull FC on a month-long loan deal but his parent club have decided to bring him back early.
Chamberlain has played the last two games for the Black and Whites, appearing against Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves. However, despite having two weeks to go on the initial agreement, he will now head back to Leigh.
Hull were hoping to have Chamberlain available for this Sunday’s game at London Broncos. They meet the Broncos for the second time this season at Wimbledon's Cherry Red Records Stadium, with Simon Grix now set to rethink his options before heading down to the capital.

Cam Scott played in the back row at Warrington on Friday, with the player potentially going into the centre. That could open the door for Jayden Okunbor to return to the first team, or the likes of Zach Jebson, who also played for the reserves over the weekend.
Okunbor has played the last two games in the reserves, featuring at both St Helens and Warrington. He was improved against the Wire, making plenty of carries and running the ball harder after coming on off the bench.
Elsewhere, on the loan front, Yusuf Aydin’s original two-week deal has now passed, with Hull working on a new deal with Hull KR for a permanent move that would see Jack Brown head east with immediate effect. The prop has signed for Rovers for the 2025 season anyway, with Hull understood to be impressive with Aydin’s conduct and attitude since joining the club.
