Lenny Kravitz addresses viral style moment

Lenny Kravitz has addressed one of his most iconic style moments.

In a recent interview with People, the 59-year-old singer-songwriter, who is known for his bold style, addressed his oversized scarf, which first went viral on social media in 2012.

During the interview, Lenny clarified that he didn't intend for the giant brown, knitted scarf to become a talking point on social media for over a decade.

"I was going to the market, just to get some groceries. Didn't think I'd be seeing anybody," he told the outlet. "It was cold, and yes, I own that big scarf that I had made for me."

"I live in the Bahamas most of the time - yes I'm from New York - but I don't like the cold," the musician explained. "I needed it. It was out of necessity. I was not trying to create a fashion moment, believe me."

The Fly Away singer added, "It has become the meme and symbol and representation of cold weather coming."

In September last year, Lenny poked fun at the scarf on TikTok.

"Grab your big scarf, it's the first day of fall," he quipped in a clip of himself wearing the oversized fashion item.
