Lenny Kravitz to perform at Joe Biden fundraiser

Lenny Kravitz is set to perform at U.S. President Joe Biden's re-election fundraiser.

The American Woman singer has signed on to play a set at the president's first re-election fundraiser event in Los Angeles on Friday.

Designer Michael Smith and former U.S. Ambassador to Spain, James Costos, are set to host the event, with co-hosts including director Steven Spielberg and his actress wife, Kate Capshaw, and businesswomen Martha Karsh and Wendy Schmidt.

First Lady Jill Biden and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are also scheduled to appear, according to Deadline.

Others chairing or hosting the event include Rob and Michele Reiner and Shonda Rhimes, among others.

Tickets started at $1,000 (£794) and rose to $500,000 (£400,000) for "chair" level ticketholders. Those who paid $25,000 (£20,000) or more would gain access to the photo line.

The event would mark the president's first in Los Angeles since announcing his re-election campaign in April this year. He reportedly avoided the city during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes due to concerns over raising money at the time of the work stoppage.

Kravitz follows in the footsteps of James Taylor, who performed at a Biden fundraiser in Boston on Tuesday.
