Leo blasted for visiting steakhouse after veggie speech

If you were going to deliver an impassioned speech extolling the virtues of vegetarianism, you’d be a little bit careful about what you had for dinner, wouldn’t you?

Not Leonardo DiCaprio. The Hollywood star has been roundly slammed after it emerged that he followed up a heartfelt monologue about how eating meat was destroying the environment with a trip to a STEAKHOUSE.

Oops.

During his speech at the Scottish Business Awards, Leo urged host Chris Evans to reduce his red meat intake for the sake of the planet. However, The Sun reports that he then headed off to The Chop and Ale House in Linlithgow, West Lothian straight afterwards.

Er, the clue’s in the name, Leo!

While it’s not clear exactly what the 42-year-old star chose from the menu, other chefs have been quick to dob him in for feasting on the flesh of animals.

Biffy McKay, chef at a Scottish charity café Home revealed he enjoyed a lamb tagine when he dropped in last week, while LA chef Michael Beckman recently claimed Leo had a prime ribeye steak at his Workshop restaurant.

Remember, this is the actor once described by none-other than mungbean munching A-lister Gwyneth Paltrow as a staunch vegetarian who often lectured her about how “dirty” meat is.

Leo’s other alleged crimes against vegetarianism? Well, he’s also backed a documentary movie called Cowspiracy, which accuses the meat, dairy and egg industries of doing more damage to the planet than exhaust fumes.

As if all that wasn’t bad enough, The Sun has accused him of tucking into, whisper it, a portion of Spaghetti Bolognese in their company!

“Leo didn’t seem too fussed that he was saying one thing and doing the other,” a snitch told the paper.
