The outpouring of grief surrounding the death of Carrie Fisher proves how much of a treasure she was not just to the whole world, but to all of the galaxy, too.

Fisher’s talents stretched way beyond her tremendous performances as Princess Leia, or her additional work on ‘Hannah And Her Sisters’, ‘The ‘Burbs’, and ‘When Harry Met Sally’. Beyond that Fisher was also the writer of several novels and screenplays, doctoring the screenplays for ‘Hook’, ‘Sister Act’, ‘Last Action Hero’, and ‘The Wedding Singer’, too, while her glorious wit was evident throughout any interview she ever did.

The utterly depressing news of Carrie Fisher’s death has also now brought attention to one of the actress’ most under appreciated bits of work: the fact that she wrote an episode of ‘Roseanne’ for her mother Debbie Reynolds back in 1997. Especially since Debbie Reynolds herself died just one day after Fisher.

With the episode, entitled Arsenic And Old Mom, Carrie Fisher once again focused on her struggles with mental health, as Debbie Reynolds’ Audrey Connor, the mother of Dan (John Goodman), turns up at Roseanne’s house after her long stay in a psychiatric hospital.

In lieu of recent events, the episode is a touching and warming celebration of Fisher and Reynolds’ relationship, which went through plenty of ups and downs over the years. By the time of their deaths, though, the duo had never been closer, and just a few days before Fisher had a heart attack she admitted she was going to have Christmas dinner with Reynolds.

You can watch a bootleg copy of Arsenic And Old Mom over on YouTube, while if you’re after further evidence of Carrie Fisher in all of her awesomeness watch her roasting George Lucas at the AFI Life Achievement Award. It will make you laugh hysterically, and then weep uncontrollably.
