To all the communities of Grimsby and Cleethorpes,

Thank you very much for hosting Sky News on Wednesday at the Grimsby Town Hall for the Battle for Number 10 special General Election programme. We felt completely welcomed into your community and all of us at Sky News enjoyed meeting audience members and local residents during the week.

Both Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer were really put to the test by you, local people, posing tough questions to find out what their leadership would mean for your community. This truly is a brilliant part of the country to broadcast from and that’s exactly why we’ll be here throughout the General Election campaign, but with minimal disruption to you!

It was important we filmed from here because the new Grimsby and Cleethorpes constituency will be a key battleground in the election. Your voice and vote has a huge impact on this election, so we look forward to meeting many more of you in the weeks that follow before polling day.

We hope you enjoyed either attending the event or watching from home and a reminder that Sky News is free to watch, so you can get the full story, first throughout the General Election and on election day itself, when we will be running a special all night show, be sure to tune in.

With best wishes,

Beth Rigby, Political Editor, Sky News
