Levi Wright's Mom Shares Touching Obituary Following His Death: 'His Heart Was Pure, Tender and Oversized'

Levi died at age 3 after being removed from life support on June 2

Levi Wright’s family is honoring his memory following his tragic death.

On Friday, June 7, Levi’s mother Kallie Wright shared a Facebook link to a heartfelt obituary for her son Levi on Southern Utah Mortuary's website, days after he was removed from life support on Sunday, June 2, following an accident where he drove his toy tractor into a Utah river in May.

In the obituary, Levi — whom Kallie shared with her husband, rodeo star Spencer Wright — was described as a “sweet boy” who was “exceptionally thoughtful and considerate for his age,” with a heart that was “pure, tender and oversized.”

Touching photos of the 3-year-old at various stages during his life, both with family and posing alone, were also shared alongside the obituary, as well as cartoon images of dinosaurs and a message beneath Levi's name that said, "Levi passed away on June 2nd, 2024."

“Our sweet boy, Levi Spencer Wright, affectionately known as ‘Beans,’ was born on March 24, 2021, in Cedar City, Utah, to Spencer and Kallie Wright of Beaver, Utah,” the obituary began. “He passed away June 2, 2024, after a two-week stay at Primary Children’s Hospital following an accident on May 21st doing what he loved most, riding his electric toy tractor.”

"Levi was exceptionally thoughtful and considerate for his age, he was constantly thinking of others. His heart was pure, tender and oversized," it continued.

Levi, who had two siblings, was noted to have “loved” his big sister Steeley as the pair were “instant best friends,” while it was added, jokingly that “the verdict was still partially out on his baby brother, Brae. but Levi often asked to 'hold baby.' "

He was also remembered as a “die-hard Grandma’s boy” who spent much time with his grandmother at her home and in church. “He enjoyed going to church with Grandma and was a Sunbeam for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,” the obituary shared.

In another touching moment in the obituary, Levi was described as his father’s “right–hand man" and he was who he “looked up to the most.”

“Levi had mastered his colors, counting to 7 and early heavy equipment operation as Dad’s right hand man. His Dad was who he looked up to most; he wanted to be just like him and was well on his way,” the obituary continued.

In his playtime, Levi had “a passion for tractors, excavators, skid steers and all heavy equipment” along with dinosaurs “like many 3-year-old boys” and he “was rarely seen without his cowboy hat and boots” after recently getting his own horse.

The post concluded with Levi’s family extending their thanks to the volunteers and first responders “that participated in his search and rescue as well as the attentive and compassionate staff at Primary Children’s Hospital.”

It was added finally that Levi’s funeral services details would be kept private.

Levi was hospitalized in critical condition after his accident on May 21. He died on Sunday, June 2 after he was removed from life support, family friend Mindy Sue Clark confirmed to PEOPLE at the time.

The touching obituary comes after Kallie spoke out for the first time following Levi's death in an emotional post on Facebook on June 6, where she reflected on the circumstances of her son's passing and described how her decision on the day of Levi's accident would "haunt me for the rest of my life."

In her post, she described the creek that runs through her family's property, with a concrete road over that her children have crossed "a million times."

"Levi did not do anything he hasn't done before," she wrote, adding, "but this time the water was at its peak & strong enough to push his tractor off the road into the creek as he drove through."

"He asked me to ride his tractor and I explained that grandma wasn't home, he shouldn't drive through the creek or the road and just to ride around the house. As he drove off, I ran back in the house," she wrote, in part, in the post, adding, "That's a decision that will haunt me for the rest of my life."

"In that moment he was my responsibility alone. Whether I went back to check on my sleeping baby, swap the laundry, wash a bottle or put away lunch, I honestly don't know. Whatever it was, wasn't more important than following him that day," she continued. Kallie then wrote that she "will lose sleep over this for eternity."

While he was in the hospital, Levi’s mom Kallie gave regular updates on his condition up as she asked for prayers over her son. Prior to his death on June 2, Kallie announced in a post that the family would be “letting him [Levi] go.”
