Lewis Capaldi superfans get chance to buy Oreo cookies 'licked' by Scots singer

Lewis Capaldi superfans are being offered the bizarre chance to bid hundreds of pounds in an auction for Oreo cookies which have been licked by the star himself. The award-winning Scots singer personally "twisted, licked and dunked" the biscuits for a charity effort back in 2019.

Now one of the flight cases containing the biscuits, which is also signed by 27-year-old Lewis, is set to go under the hammer in one of the "quirkiest ever" auction finds.

The two packets of Lewis Capaldi Oreo cookies are expected to fetch an impressive sum - somewhere between £300- £500 - when they are sold by Hansons Auctioneers, in Etwall, Derbyshire, tomorrow.

Claire Howell, music memorabilia specialist at Hansons: "As musical memorabilia finds go they don't get much quirkier than this but, as many people like Lewis Capaldi and Oreo biscuits, it could do very well. It's a fun item which would have been originally made for promotional purposes. I can only assume that Lewis likes Oreos!"

Capaldi previously said he was selling the biscuits to raise funds for Nordoff Robbins, the UK's largest independent music therapy charity. In a video released at the time, he says: "Hello, I'm Lewis Capaldi, and I'm here today with these, my face on a packet of Oreos.

"I'm going to get my tongue in about every last one of them, and I'm going to lick them like there's no tomorrow, for you. You can buy these Oreos that I've put my tongue across."

The lot description states: "Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi has endorsed this small flight case of Oreo cookies. The case is signed on the front by the singer and inside are two packs of Oreos along with a pair of custom-made glasses with real Oreos on the outside.

"The specially printed Oreo packs state that the biscuits have been 'Twisted, Licked, Dunked by Lewis Capaldi!'. One of the packets has also been signed'.

The Whitburn singer has enjoyed major musical success. In 2019, 'Someone You Loved' topped the UK Singles Chart for seven weeks and also became the best-selling single of the year.

The song also reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, and in 2020 it was acknowledged as the longest-running top 10 UK single of all time by a British artist.
