Liam Gallagher's epic homecoming continued last night as he played a second night at Manchester's new Co-op Live arena.

The Burnage-born singer and musician has played two nights at the Eastlands venue so far, and will be back again on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 June for two more massive shows.

After describing night one as 'biblical' and telling fans they ''absolutely smashed it' on the first of his four-gig run, he's now issued another update - and the singer had a thing or two to say about the city's new arena.

The former Oasis frontman shared a series of posts on social media following last night's gig at Co-op Live. The first said the the arena was now 'well and truly on the map'.

Immediately following the gig, the Manc legend wrote on X, formerly Twitter, said: "Manchester you did it again that arena is well and truly on the map and it’s all down to you lot both nights were BIBLICAL loud proud and cool as f*** I love and adore you all stay young LG x."

And this morning, as well as sharing a picture of his dog, Buttons Gallagher, the singer felt compelled to praise the venue once again - comparing it to one of the world's biggest concert venues, Madison Square Garden in New York, which has played host to some of the biggest names in music over the years.

"That new MCR arena is up there with NY MSG in my opinion as you were LG x," Liam wrote on X earlier.

Fans on the social media platform were quick to jump in too, with one saying it was a 'great' arena and Liam's performance was 'top'.

Another wrote: "Thank you for the last 2 nights! Best frontman ever. You mean the world to a lot of people and keep on rocking! Nice to hear Oasis tunes again. 3rd time seeing you this year."

And a third, who attended both shows, said: "Sounded unreal both night. Expect nowt less from the best city in the world."

The two back-to-back shows over the weekend were the first at the Co-op Live to celebrate Oasis’ seminal debut album Definitely Maybe in its 30th anniversary year. Liam told fans he intended to 'f***ing put this place on the map' as he took to the stage on night one.

The setlist has featured some of Oasis's biggest anthems like Live Forever, Slide Away and Supersonic. And support on both nights came from Liam's son Gene Gallagher and his band Villanelle, and Liverpool indie legends Cast.

Speaking to the MEN earlier this year, Liam said he was looking forward to playing Manchester's newest live venue. He said: "I'm impressed, it looks good. I'm into it man."

The star will perform again at Co-op Live on on Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28.
