The Effects of Lying, ITVX's new movie starring actors from Line of Duty, EastEnders and Holby City, has released some new images, a trailer and a premiere date.

A comedy drama with an East Asian cast, The Effects of Lying follows a man named Naveen who finds his wife in bed with his brother.

As the truth starts pouring out and the illusions he had about his life are shattered, Naveen finds himself questioning who he is and decides to be less passive and take charge of his own life.

Bend It Like Beckham's Shaheen Khan and Father Brown's Mark Williams also have roles in the film, while the director Isher Sahota has also worked on Father Brown.

The Effects of Lying will be released on ITVX on July 6, although it's being screened on June 28 at the BFI London Indian Film Festival with the cast, director and producer Jon Tarcy in attendance for a Q&A.

Meanwhile, fans are still eagerly awaiting news about more of Line of Duty, seeing as the last series aired in 2021.

Concrete details are unknown, but Steve Arnott actor Martin Compston recently said: "We had a long talk about it and we all said that we'd be up for doing one more. One last one.

"So that's where we're at. That talk was in April and from then nothing's changed. All we've said is that we'd be up for doing one more at some point but none of us have signed on."

The Effects of Lying premieres on ITVX on July 6. Line of Duty is streaming on BBC iPlayer, and DVD and Blu-ray boxsets are also available to buy now.
