Huge Line for Las Vegas COVID Testing Causes Traffic Delays

Las Vegas residents waited in hours-long lines for drive-through coronavirus testing on Sunday, January 9, causing traffic jams, reports said.

Paul Cuni filmed this footage of the line at Sam Boyd Stadium on January 9, estimating there were “hundreds” of cars waiting in line two hours before the site opened on Sunday afternoon, its first day.

Earlier in the week, Clark County officials announced that the testing site at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’s (UNLV) Paradise campus would be relocated to Sam Boyd Stadium due to an increased demand for testing. The new location could accommodate 1,200 tests and 300 vaccinations per day, the county said. Credit: Paul Cuni via Storyful
