'Line Of Duty' stars want new series after COVID made last season 'tough'
Watch: Line Of Duty stars want new series
Line Of Duty stars Vicky McClure and Martin Compston have said they want to shoot another series of the cop show. They have said that the last one was made amid the COVID pandemic and they wouldn't want to end it like that.
Compston — who plays DI Steve Arnott — said on Good Morning Britain: "It's such a sociable job in terms of the crew and hanging out and I think we were the first job back over COVID, and we couldn't see each other, we couldn't hang out at night, we couldn't do anything.
"So it wouldn't be a really great way to end it."
The sixth series of the BBC police drama aired last year and there has been much talk about whether it will come back for another run.
Nothing has been confirmed but this week McClure and Compston sparked speculation when they shared a photo of them, co-star Adrian Dunbar and the show's creator Jed Mercurio catching up over drinks.

Appearing on GMB on Friday, 10 June, the pair were asked if fans would get another instalment from AC-12.
After a long pause, McClure replied: "Nothing planned as yet, we just went out for a nice meal!"
Presenter Kate Garraway called them 'teases', and the actor went on: "I'm telling the truth, I'm telling the truth, nothing planned and set in stone."
Compston added: "We are chuffed that people still want us to come back.
"We've done 10 years now and the fact that people are still wanting to see the show is amazing."
"We'd all go back," said McClure, who stars as DI Kate Fleming.
"We adore working with each other, we adore working with... Jed's writing is phenomenal.
"We've been working together for over 10 years now and you know, the last series was incredible in terms of the response that we got but it was really quite tough to shoot because obviously it was within COVID so it would be lovely to go back and not end on that kind of way."
