Lisa Armstrong has reportedly extended an olive branch to her ex-husband Ant McPartlin six years after their acrimonious split. The couple ended their relationship after two decades together, and their subsequent interactions have been less than amicable.

However, it appears Strictly Come Dancing make-up artist Lisa is ready to leave the past behind and move forward. Their divorce was finalised 11 years into their marriage, following a period where Lisa supported Ant through his career-threatening struggles with alcohol, prescription drugs, and a drink-driving charge in 2018.

Despite some rocky moments post-divorce, Lisa is said to be seeking a new beginning. According to OK!, a source claims that Lisa has undergone "a lot of healing over the past few years" and is keen to ensure she's in a "good place".

The insider revealed to the magazine: "Lisa knows Ant is ready to move on with the next chapter of his life - she doesn't want to be angry anymore. She's done a lot of healing over the past few years and spent so much time being upset and angry about everything.

"It has been exhausting but she has done a lot of work on herself. It seems everyone is having a fresh start with the end of the show and Ant's new chapter in his life, so Lisa wants to make sure she's in a good place."

She also showed a gesture of support ahead of Saturday Night Takeaway's final show. Lisa gave a 'like' to a post that commended Ant and Dec as "simply the best" in their glittering careers.

Armstrong reacted positively to a social media post showcasing Ant and Dec, captioned: "After 20 years this amazing show is coming to an end it's been a real joy and pleasure to have been there from the beginning, and in my 30-year career in showbiz I've worked with some brilliant people but these two are simply the best! Great friendships and memories made."

The 'like' may hint at Lisa's willingness to extend her support once more, according to insider sources. They revealed: "Lisa feels she played an important part in their success - she was there from the very start when Ant and Dec first had the idea. Seeing the show come to an end brought back lots of happy memories. It also made her realise that she and Ant were really happy and she now doesn't want her marriage to him tarnished. Lisa loved him so much and now she just wants everyone to be happy, Ant included."

In 2020, Lisa found love again with James Green, two years post her breakup with Ant McPartlin. However, their romantic relationship didnt stand the test of time and they parted ways last year, following a blissful vacation together in the Caribbean.

Ant is now married to wife Anne-Marie and they are expecting their first child together.
