SEFTON

13 Moor Lane - Application for a New Premises Licence

The A55 Trunk Road (Junction 36 (Warren Interchange) to the WALES/ENGLAND border, FLINTSHIRE)

(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles, Cyclists and pedestrians) ORDER 2024

THE WELSH MINISTERS have made an Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which is necessary to undertake works on or near the A55 trunk road from Junction 36 (Warren Interchange) to the Wales/England border in the County of Flintshire.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit all vehicles (other than those being used by the emergency services or for the works), cyclists and pedestrians from proceeding on the lengths of the A55 specified in the Schedule to this Notice. The alternative routes are also described in the Schedule to this Notice.

The temporary prohibitions, which will be signed accordingly, will operate overnight (21:00 hours to 05:00 hours) from 8 May 2024 until 19 May 2024 or until the temporary traffic signs are permanently removed.

Although the Order is only expected to operate during the times and dates specified above it will remain valid for a maximum period of 6 months as a contingency, should the work need to be rescheduled or consequential or other work is required.

Advance notice of any changes to times and dates will be displayed before any rescheduled work.

1. The length of the A55 eastbound carriageway of the trunk road that extends from the nosing of the eastbound exit slip road at Junction 36 (Warren Interchange) in an easterly direction to the Wales/England border.

2. The entire length of the A55 eastbound entry slip road at Junction 36 (Warren Interchange).

3. The entire length of the A55 eastbound entry slip road at Junction 36A (Broughton).

The alternative route for eastbound traffic wishing to travel eastbound at Junction 36 will be to travel on the westbound carriageway to Junction 34, then proceed on the A494 north eastbound to take the exit onto the A5117 and continue north eastbound to Dunkirk Roundabout, then take the third exit onto the A41 south eastbound to re-join the A55 at Junction 39.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic wishing to join the eastbound carriageway at Junction 36A will be to join the B5125 north westbound, then take the first exit onto the A5104 southbound to Junction 36 and continue via the main diversion route above.

4. The length of the A55 westbound carriageway of the trunk road that extends from the Wales/England border in a westerly direction to the nosing of the westbound entry slip road at Junction 36 (Warren Interchange).

5. The entire length of the A55 westbound exit slip road at Junction 36 (Warren Interchange).

6. The entire length of the A55 westbound exit slip road at Junction 36A (Broughton).

The alternative route for westbound traffic wishing to travel westbound at Junction 38, will be to travel via the eastbound carriageway continuing eastbound to Junction 39, then proceed on the A41 north westbound to Dunkirk Roundabout to take the first exit onto the A5117 south westbound, then turn right onto the A540 to Parkgate Roundabout, take the third exit onto the A494 south westbound and proceed to Junction 34 to re-join the A55.

Any other diversions required above will be managed by Highways England.
