Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Billy Joel is back with new music.

The singer and musician, 74, released the single "Turn the Lights Back On" on Thursday.

"Turn the Lights Back On" marks Joel's first new music in 17 years.

The song is produced by Freddy Wexler and written by Wexler, Joel, Arthur Bacon and Wayne Hector.

"Turn the Lights Back On" is described as "a classic Billy Joel-style tune, embodying the hallmarks of his signature sound and ushering in the next chapter of his story."

Joel announced the single in January.

Joel will perform Sunday at the Grammy Awards, which will air at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.

The singer also has his residency show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, which will end with a 150th performance show in July.
