A newly opened dessert shop in Swindon has achieved a top rating in its first food hygiene inspection.

The Little Dessert Shop opened on Saturday, June 1, replacing the previous dessert store Mylo’s Dessert on Cricklade Road.

On Monday, June 24, the store was awarded a five-star food hygiene rating.

Manager Gul Ahmed said: “We’re very happy and the team are enjoying it. Everyone coming here is loving it and some customers are saying it gives them a London vibe because they like the posh interior, lighting and furniture.

“One customer who was born and raised in Swindon said he has never been somewhere like this before.

“We ran a 50 per cent discount on everything when we opened and people were queuing outside. We closed at 6pm and they were still queueing, but we plan on having more deals and discounts in the future.”

The franchise, which has over 50 branches in the UK, prides itself on offering viral artisan desserts which people see trending on social media.

Gul says they have been especially busy on evenings and weekends and she has had to order extra deliveries of waffles and milk cakes, as they have consistently sold out.
