Little Mix's Perrie Edwards says dancing is causing her pain due to slipped disc

Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards has shared that she as a slipped disc as well as a tear at the base of her spine, but that she's soldiering on.

In a recent Twitter Q&A on the group’s account, Edwards shared the health update after a fan questioned if she was "recovering" from learning the choreography to the group’s latest music video and their performance on their talent show Little Mix: The Search.

"SERIOUSLY! I recently found out I have a slipped disk & tear in the base of my back/spine and I die every time we dance," she replied. "But it's worth it."

It comes as Little Mix, which is made up of Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leighanne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall, are set to release their sixth studio album Confetti on Friday 6 November while they also prepare to host the MTV EMAs next week.

Meanwhile, their BBC programme is currently into its live show stages as the bands the X Factor winners assembled continue to battle it out for the chance to support Little Mix on their tour next year.

The first live edition was delayed until last week due to crew members testing positive for the coronavirus.

When it was finally able to go ahead last Saturday, Thirlwall was absent from the studio as she had to self-isolate at home. Instead, she appeared via video link meaning she missed out on performing the band's new single with the trio in the studio.

The first show saw mixed group Jasper Blue sent home after competing in a sing-off against girl dance group Melladaze.

Little Mix: The Search continues Saturday at 6.05pm on BBC One.
