Three in hospital after multi-vehicle crash shuts A2 London Road in Teynham in both directions

Three people have been taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on the A2. Six vehicles were involved in the collision on the A2 London Road in Teynham, near Sittingbourne, this afternoon (May 16).

Kent Police officers were called at 12.24pm to the crash. A spokesperson said: "Officers and paramedics attended the scene where three people were treated for injuries.

"They have been taken to a local hospital for further medical attention and arrangements are underway to recover the vehicles." The crash shut the busy stretch of the A2 - and it remains closed in both directions.

According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, traffic is queueing from Frognal Lane to The Co op. KentLive has contacted the ambulance service for further details.
