Votes are being counted across 650 constituencies following a day of polling at the 2024 General Election.

Sir Keir Starmer is on course for Downing Street as an exit poll indicated his Labour Party will sweep to power.

The Labour leader will become prime minister on Friday with a commanding majority in Parliament, the exit poll for broadcasters suggested. Rishi Sunak’s term as Prime Minister looks set to end in electoral disaster, with the Conservatives forecast to endure heavy losses.

The exit poll suggests Labour is on course for 410 seats, with the Tories reduced to 131. In Northern Ireland, there are 18 seats up for grabs - take a look at what time we can expect results here.

There are 136 candidates for Northern Ireland's Westminster constituencies and nail-biters expected in several key seats. Those hotly contested areas include Lagan Valley, East Belfast, Belfast South and Mid Down, South Antrim, Fermanagh and South Tyrone, North Down, and Foyle.
