Liverpool have been linked with a number of players since the 2023/24 Premier League season ended last weekend.

After Arne Slot's long-awaited appointment was confirmed, focus has turned to the transfer business ahead of a new era at Anfield. Players are expected to depart in a hectic window meaning the starting line-up on the opening day in August could look slightly different.

The Eredivisie market has been earmarked as a potential area that the Reds will look to tap into. With a new recruitment team constructed on Merseyside, a busy summer is ahead.

Here, Liverpool Echo takes a look at the latest Liverpool transfer news and offers a perspective on the latest.

Adarabioyo race heats up

Liverpool are reportedly interested in Fulham central defender Tosin Adarabioyo ahead of the summer but they are not alone in the race for his signature.

According to the BBC, the Reds are joined by AC Milan, Newcastle and Tottenham in showing interest. However, Manchester United are leading the race for the 26-year-old when his contract expires on June 30.

It's said that United are looking to bolster their defence with the free signing of Adarabioyo amid their tight financial situation. With Joel Matip leaving, Liverpool could look to beat their rivals.

Liverpool Echo says: "It's no surprise that Man United and Newcastle are in for Adarabioyo with their tight budgets. However, Liverpool should be able to venture out and sign one of Europe's most talented defenders.

"However, with the club back in the Champions League, a free signing for an English defender wouldn't be bad business for competition and fitting the homegrown quota.

"Slot will have targets in his mind but signing a defender with Premier League experience could be a good option."

Slot plans move for Feyenoord reunion

Arne Slot could look to bring goalkeeper Justin Bijlow to Anfield with him from Feyenoord this summer.

Dutch outlet De Telegraaf has claimed that Arsenal want him to compete with David Raya for the number one spot but the Reds could use Slot's good connection with Feyenoord to bring him to Merseyside.

The 26-year-old is expected to move to England this window after Man United were quoted around £25m for his services. The report claims that price is now 'significantly lower'.

Liverpool Echo says: "Now this is the sort of transfer rumour we expect to see with Liverpool and Slot. The likes of Lutsharel Geertruida, Santiago Gimenez and Orkun Kokcu are all players who have worked with the new Reds boss in the past and have been linked.

"Goalkeeper isn't a position that Liverpool need to improve but Bijlow would improve the competition behind Alisson. Should the Netherlands international arrive, you'd expect Caoimhin Kelleher to leave permanently and play regular football.

"Like Liverpool, Arsenal have a number one goalkeeper so would Bijlow want to move to the Premier League to be a number two? I'm not sure."
