Liverpool could yet have a cheap way out of their attacking problems this summer. With uncertainty over the futures of Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz, as well as Darwin Nunez, there is plenty for Arne Slot to think about. Alongside the new-look recruitment setup at Anfield, Slot will be tasked with revamping his squad in key areas.

One of those is certainly the front line. Both Salah and Diaz have been strongly linked with moves away whilst Nunez too has seen grumblings over his future continue into the summer. It could make for an unsettled summer but options for replacements have emerged.

Long-term target Federico Chiesa is now the latest to be linked with a move to Anfield. However, reports in Italy suggest that the player has already been offered to Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle as well.

Liverpool were one of the sides touted with making a big money move for the Juventus winger in 2021 after his impressive Euros campaign made him one of the most exciting young wingers in the world. Injuries have become a huge problem for the 26-year-old though and his stock has fallen, though Liverpool were also mooted as a possible destination for the forward on a bargain deal last year as well.

With just 12 months left on his contract now, it is believed that new manager Thiago Motta is not yet convinced he should be given a new deal. Not only does this open Chiesa up to a possible summer exit for free next year, but also smaller offers in the months to come.

It is suggested that as little as £30million could be enough to get the winger. That comes after Chiesa had his second-most productive season since moving to Turin.

Making 33 Serie A appearances (25 starts) he managed nine goals and two assists. Only once has he scored more in a single league campaign and that was back in 2019/20 when still at Fiorentina. Managing to fight off the fitness troubles that have plagued him, Chiesa played more than double the previous two years combined.

It leaves his standing higher than in previous summers but perhaps still a risk for Liverpool. As far as proven European wingers go, though, he may well become more of an option for Liverpool depending on how their transfer activity both in and out of the club goes.
