Some hotels and apartments across Liverpool have almost tripled in price, for the visit of Taylor Swift.

The superstar will be heading to the city in June for three nights of concerts at Anfield Stadium from June 13 to June 15. When tickets for the UK leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour went on sale searches for Airbnbs in areas she is performing surged on average 337% for show nights.

Hotels experiencing strong demand have also upped their prices to reflect this, with Booking.com data shared by Buzz Bingo revealing hotels in Liverpool have almost tripled their prices. It costs on average £329 to stay overnight during the second leg of Taylor Swift's tour.

According to the Booking.com data, the cheapest hotel over the three nights costs £195 and the most expensive is over four times the price at £831 per night on night two of the Eras tour in Liverpool. When Taylor Swift isn’t in town, hotel prices on average are £122 per night.

Nationwide, the highest priced hotel of the tour comes in at a staggering £1,242 for a single night on the first night of Taylor’s second stint in London. This is 11 times the price of a general admission ticket from the original sale, which retailed at £110.

The anticipated impact of passion tourism by Swift fans on these cities is supported by new research from Oxford Economics, commissioned by Airbnb, quantifying the economic impact of passion tourism through the lens of three major events - The Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool in 2023, the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022 and COP26 in Glasgow in 2021. Together, these events alone contributed more than £36m to UK GDP with Airbnb guests estimated to have spent a combined £31.5m while attending.

Liverpool welcomed 5,900 guests, with local restaurants and retailers being some of the biggest beneficiaries. Airbnb guests are estimated to have spent £2.8m in local communities during the European Song Contest.

Amanda Cupples, General Manager of UK & Northern Europe for Airbnb, said: "Live music, sports and cultural experiences have become an even bigger draw for tourists post-pandemic. Over the past three years, we’ve seen how major events can elevate different places to the world stage as they welcome guests from across the globe and Taylor Swift’s tour this summer will be no different. We’re proud to help towns and cities across the UK host these moments, enabling local businesses and families to benefit from the tourism economy."

Are tickets still available for The Eras Tour?

The tour is sold out but people are being told to keep an eye on Ticketmaster and AXS for official tickets, as there's a chance fans who can no longer attend will resell theirs.

Third-party ticket sites such as Viagogo do have tickets listed but at more than triple the price of face value. Standing tickets cost £617 each whereas seated tickets are as much as £647 which includes restricted views.

Sites such as Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note many event promoters say tickets should not be resold after initial purchase and will not be valid for admittance to gigs.

Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double-check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale - such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation - to ensure a smooth live event experience.

Tickets could be voided if they're found to be bought second-hand. As a result, fans are buying at their own risk. With that said, Viagogo also commented: "Viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the guarantee."
