Liverpool learn brutal Leny Yoro transfer reality as Alisson replacement emerges

Liverpool are yet to complete their first move in the summer transfer window. Arne Slot has officially started his preparations for the 2024/25 season with pre-season training underway but the Dutchman is yet to improve his squad.

Adrian, Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara have all left the club at the expiry of their contract. Apart from the trio's exit, transfer business has been slow at Anfield as the new management regime beds in.

Leny Yoro bid accepted

One player who Liverpool look unlikely to sign is Lille centre-back Leny Yoro. The highly-rated teenager has been linked with a move to Anfield this summer after his impressive displays in France.

Previous reports have claimed that the defender wants a move to Real Madrid. However, according to various outlets, Manchester United have had a bid accepted worth between €60m and €70m.

The player's preference is said to still be a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, but United have made the first official move for his signature. Both Liverpool and their Premier League rivals look set for disappointment in this case.

Potential Alisson replacement

Real Madrid goalkeeper Adriy Lunin is reportedly wanted by Liverpool as a potential replacement for Alisson, should the Brazilian leave the club.

According to HITC, Alisson is wanted by a number of teams in Saudi Arabia and the replace him, the Reds recruitment team are considering a move for Lunin.

Caoimhin Kelleher is reportedly wanted by Celtic meaning Liverpool could make a move for Lunin to compete with Alisson for the number one spot. HITC have also claimed that Feyenoord's Justin Bijlow remains a target.
