Liverpool have reportedly learned a new asking price from Eintracht Frankfurt for defender Willian Pacho.

Reports earlier this year claimed that the Reds were interested in signing Pacho this summer as they plan to strengthen their defence. Liverpool have not signed a first-team centre-back since the arrival of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig in 2021.

This summer will see a new era dawn at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp departing from his role as manager. As a result, it's expected that Feyenoord boss Arne Slot will step in to be Klopp's successor as Reds boss.

There has already been speculation about what business Liverpool may conduct in Slot's first summer transfer window as manager. Pacho is one of the first players to be linked with a move to Anfield ahead of the new era.

Reports initially speculated that Frankfurt may value Pacho at around £60 million. However, there has been an update on the defender's future which may indicate that the Bundesliga club have changed their stance.

According to Sky Germany, Liverpool are still showing an interest in signing Pacho this summer. It has been stated, though, that the Reds are yet to enter official negotiations for the 22-year-old.

The report claims that Frankfurt have now set their asking price for Pacho between €50 million and €60 million (£43m-£52m). Should this prove to be the case, then it could see Liverpool handed a discount of £17 million from the original reported asking price for Pacho.

Pacho is under contract at Frankfurt until 2028 and is one of the Bundesliga club's most vital players in defence. The centre-back arrived from Belgian club Royal Antwerp last summer in a deal reported to be worth around €9 million (£7.7 million).

He has made 42 appearances for Frankfurt this season in all competitions, including six in the Europa Conference League. Pacho's form in his first season in the Bundesliga has seen his market value increase to €30 million (£26 million), according to Transfermarkt.
