Aston Villa's ascendancy in the Premier League and Europe this season will not have gone unnoticed by the big clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool - that's according to Dwight Yorke.

The former Villa and Manchester United star believes that Unai Emery 's work at Villa this season which has seen them outpace United, Spurs and Newcastle, will lead to interest in his services.

In a chat with Crypto Casino LTD, Yorke suggested that the Villa boss could do even better than the current bosses at Liverpool, United, and the Gunners.

"I think based on this season alone, you could say Unai Emery would do even better than Erik ten Hag, Mikel Arteta or Jurgen Klopp at their clubs," Yorke stated.

"But things can change quickly. It won't surprise me to see Emery's name linked with the big clubs in the summer. He has a point to prove at the top clubs because of how his time ended at Arsenal."

"When Emery returned to Villa, he had to demonstrate that he was unfairly treated at Arsenal, and I believe that hunger is what has propelled Villa to where they are currently."

The club have triggered a one-year option in the head coach's existing deal and further talks over a long-term extension are expected in the summer. Bayern Munich, who are on the search for a new manager, hold an interest in Emery. But his future remains at Villa Park having transformed the club's fortunes over the last 18 months.

After qualifying for European football last season, Villa are two games against Olympiacos away from the Europa Conference League final in Athens. Meanwhile, Villa are also sitting in fourth ahead of their final four matches of the Premier League season.

“We are enjoying our way together with Villa fans, the club owners, management and this great group of players that we are proud of," Emery said.

“Me and the football management… we share the vision of the owners. Nassef [Sawiris] and Wes [Edens] are very supportive and respectful, and we have a good environment and the right structure to develop this football club.

“We must maintain the hard-working spirit, clever decisions and coordination with the ownership that we have found during this time. We will work to get better and better. And we will demand from each other. Ambition already is, and must always be, the motto of this project.”

Chairman Nassef Sawiris said: “We are thrilled and are building a sporting operation around Unai to support him with a view of returning Aston Villa, a co-founder of the English Football League as we prepare to celebrate our 150 th anniversary, to its historic levels of greatness.”
