Marcus Rashford leaving Manchester United this summer could offer Liverpool a surprise boost in signing one of Europe's hottest prospects.

The 26-year-old is set for talks with United over his future, as reported by our colleagues at the Manchester Evening News, and the club have refused to rule out cashing in on the player. Arsenal have previously linked with the England international, but the potential for a move to Paris Saint-Germain would be most interesting to the Old Trafford club.

Aside from a departure outside of the Premier League ensuring Rashford would no longer be able to score his customary goal against the Reds at Old Trafford next season, it could also aid the club's transfer business.

PSG are known to admire Rashford but have also been linked with multiple players Liverpool are also reportedly interested in. Kingsley Coman and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are just two of the names who have been linked with moves to Anfield.

The Georgia international caught the eye across their four Euros matches before being eliminated by Spain in the round of 16 last weekend. Kvaratskhelia also acknowledged last month that he would decide on his future following the tournament.

There is a decision to make because PSG have made a contract offer to the player, as Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis alluded to last week. During an introductory press conference for the club's new head coach, Antonio Conte, he acknowledged that 'somebody' had sent the player a proposal.

"One could call to order, especially because the ECA (European Club Association) president is part of that club," De Laurentiis said. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi chairs the ECA.

De Laurentiis is known to be a tough negotiator, and that apparent act will hardly help PSG's chances of signing Kvaratskhelia. Therefore, the potential opportunity to sign Rashford could see them pivot to negotiating with United before long.

While that alone would not make Liverpool the frontrunner to sign Kvaratskhelia, as Napoli are adamant that the player will stay this summer, PSG no longer necessarily needing a forward if they sign Rashford could bode well for the Reds' chances of improving their attack before the window closes.
