Jodie Comer has wowed fans as she revealed details of her upcoming project.

The Scouse superstar has been confirmed in the lead role of 28 Years Later, the third film in the classic zombie horror franchise. The 31-year-old has been announced as part of the cast alongside fellow stars, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Fiennes.

The upcoming film will mark the reunion of Danny Boyle and Alex Garland, who directed and wrote the 2002 original, 28 Days Later. The two worked as executive producers on the 2007 sequel, 28 Weeks Later.

Plot details for the upcoming film are vague but it is reportedly the first in a planned new trilogy. Jodie has been cast in the lead role which continues to build on her status as one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood.

News of the upcoming film was exclusively released by Deadline and Jodie reshared the article as she looked forward to her upcoming chapter. She said: "The next adventure."

Jodie won acclaim for her performance as the lead in The End We Start From earlier this year. Jodie's breakout role came as Villanelle in Killing Eve and she has successfully made the transition from TV to film with roles in Free Guy and The Last Duel.

Fans have taken to social media and said they can't wait to see the Liverpool star in 28 Years Later. Thaise said: "Oh I can't wait! Jodie Comer is becoming one of my favourites."
