Liverpool U18s bounce back from Man United humiliation as Everton U18s held in mini derby
Liverpool's Under-18s responded well to their hammering at Manchester United with a creditable 2-2 draw with Everton at Finch Farm on Saturday.
The young Reds, who were humiliated 9-1 at United last Saturday, fought back against the Blues in the weekend's mini derby with goals from Karim Ahmed and Ranel Young, having twice fell behind to their Merseyside rivals.
It ensured an unbeaten weekend for the Liverpool academy ranks after the Under-21s beat their Manchester United counterparts 3-0 at Old Trafford on Friday night in a game that saw Stefan Bajcetic make his long-awaited comeback from injury.

Marc Bridge-Wilkinson will have been pleased to have seen his side respond after that result at United but the Reds U18s boss might also have felt a pang of frustration that they didn't secure all three points at home of the Blues, having dominated for much of the second period.
Everton took the lead through Joel Catesby at the club's Halewood training base after home goalkeeper George Pickford had made a handful of saves that included efforts from Trey Nyoni and Ahmed.
A superb piece of play from Kieran Morrison ended with Ahmed equalising with 15 minutes left after a strong second half from Bridge-Wilkinson's side before George Finney gave the hosts the advantage once more.
A razor-sharp counter-attack from an Everton corner saw substitute Young finish off an excellent individual effort to restore parity, though, as the Reds responded well from being hammered by United a week ago.
Up next for Liverpool in the U18 Premier League North is Newcastle United on Tuesday evening.
